DIRECTOR
COLUMBIA SPORTSWEAR:
FASTEST KNOWN TIME
After a grueling 24-hour shoot, the entire crew stayed up another three hours sharing stories and tears. A career highlight, to be sure. THREE MILLION VIEWS (and counting).
HYDRO FLASK:
LET'S GO!
For years Hydro Flask had been quietly supporting non-profits who got people outdoors, so when it came time to create some content around the new tagline, Let's Go!, it only made sense to tap into those programs to find our talent.
HYDRO FLASK:
WHY WE GO
In order to keep up with content creation during the pandemic, I concepted this series in which subjects were interviewed remotely and filmed outdoors, at a distance, by a cinematographer who was taking direction from me at my desk. The intimate nature of the interviews allowed for rich stories from people who were largely under-represented in the outdoor space. The conversations I had with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities were some of the most powerful I've had in my life.
STRAIGHTAWAY COCKTAILS:
MAKE IT 'TIL YOU MAKE IT
Mixing my soulful interview style with animation inspired by Straightaway's packaging, we crafted an origin story worthy of the heart and craft that built this beautiful brand.
SPIRAL STAIRS:
EXILED TONIGHT (Music Video)
Spiral approached me to make a music video for each of the songs on his new album, Doris & The Daggers but I didn't have the time and he didn't have the budget. I was especially moved, however, by one song on the album which was dedicated to his recently deceased drummer. It reminded me of the formidable time I spent as guitarist in the band and the emotional mini-reunion which took place at the drummer's memorial. The video was more of a personal exorcism than a professional project—I didn't even tell Spiral I was working on it—but the end result (collaged from album art I also designed) became both a loving tribute and a beautiful marketing tool for the album. I received many messages after that it brought people to tears. I can't think of a higher compliment than that.
